We have a number of options available that provide affordable access to Activ8’s facilities for students, apprentices and those aged between 11 – 15 years old who are in still in secondary education. The under 16’s option is also available at a reduced rate if you have a parent or guardian that currently hold an existing Activ8 membership.

Joining online is the most popular option as you can do this from the comfort of your own home. There are number of membership options that can be purchased online. Once you have selected your membership type, you can choose to join online and follow the step by step instructions. During this process you will be required to create a new account. This account can then be used for all future bookings.
You will be asked to book an induction at your chosen venue at a time that suits you. Here we will run through the equipment to make sure you can make the most of your training in the safest possible way. We will also create a bespoke fitness plan so you can work towards your goals in the best possible way. If you have a promotional code you can also enter this at the final stage of the booking process. If you are looking to join with either an under 16’s or student/apprenticeship membership you will need to do so in one of our clubs, as we need to see proof of entitlement. Please contact us to arrange an appointment to join in venue.
If you do not hold an Activ8 membership or Tees Active savings card, simply head over to our online platform here and select ‘I’m new and would like to sign up’. Then complete all of the fields and click create. You will then be sent a confirmation email, click the link in your confirmation email and you’re good to go!
If you currently hold an Activ8 membership or Tees Active discount card, visit the site here and select ‘I’m a member but need to create an online account’. Then you’ll need to sign up using the email address connected to your membership and the membership number on your card or band. Once you’ve completed all of the fields and clicked create, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Click the link in this email and you’re all set.
At Activ8, we pride ourselves on offering a friendly and sociable environment where our members can enjoy working out and feel comfortable doing so. Our gyms are not full of beach body athletes, just people like you who have their own motivations and goals that they are working towards. It can be a daunting thought walking into a gym or fitness class for the first time and you’re certainly not the first person to be a little apprehensive at this stage.

Technogym is a mark of quality across the world and here at Activ8 Health & Fitness we are glad to offer the latest Technogym equipment at all of our clubs. This includes state of the art cardio stations that incorporate TV entertainment so you can catch up on the latest series while you workout. We also have dumbbells up to 50kg and Technogym Pure Strength plate loaded equipment for those looking to build muscle mass and strength.
All of our equipment is maintained regularly and unlike a lot of gym providers, if something does need repairing, this is done so as a matter of urgency, quickly and efficiently.

At Activ8 Health & Fitness we aim to make our gyms as accessible as possible and will always try to accommodate each individual’s needs wherever we can. Carers can accompany individuals in the gym and we will work with you to make sure you get the most from your experience with us. All of our venues and pools are also fully accessible by wheelchair users and have accessible toilet and shower facilities. Our friendly health advisors can also tailor a suitable exercise plan to incorporate equipment that can be quickly reconfigured to suit individual needs.
Most of our fitness classes are open to everyone and we have a number of pay as you go options available. It can often work out much better value for money, if you plan on visiting as little as once a week, to take out an all inclusive Activ8 membership. Fitness classes can be booked, and paid for, online by members and non-members using Tees Active’s online booking platform. View the fitness class timetable here and hover above the class you wish to attend to see the spaces available and follow the option to book. If you are a member and it is your first time booking a class you, will need to have your membership number to hand so you can create your Tees Active online account where prices will be automatically based on your membership type once you login. Non-members simply need to create an account if they haven’t done so already, and have your credit or debit card ready to make payment for each class you book.
Fitness classes can also be booked at reception in any of our venues and members can use the kiosks located near reception where available. These self service check in machines can also be used to check in before a class to save time queuing.
It is really important to cancel your activity so that we know who will be in attendance at the particular sessions and also so we can make the spaces available again for other members and customers.
Please be aware that any cancellations need to be made at least 2 hours before the session is due to start. From 4th April 2022 a 50p charge will be added for any sessions that have not been attended or cancelled in time and booking accounts will be locked until the small debt is paid.

You can easily cancel any of your bookings within your account by heading to the ‘My Bookings’ section of your member area, finding the class you want to cancel and clicking the ‘cancel’ button on the chosen activity.
If you paid for a session through your online booking account, you’ll need to contact the venue of the activity directly via telephone and the team will rearrange your booking for you so long as you’ve contacted within the cancellation period.
To cancel please follow the below instructions:

If your account is locked you will be unable to make any bookings until your account has been unlocked and the debt has been paid.
Your account may be locked for one of the following reasons:
A 50p charge will be added for any pre booked sessions that have not been attended or cancelled in time and booking accounts will be locked until the small debt is paid.
We have implemented the above to improve our customer experience by maximising our capacity to our bookable sessions and avoid people booking sessions and not attending.
If you do have a debt you can easily see them on your account and pay for them online by logging into our online booking platform and heading to the ‘My Debts’ section of your member area.

Our changing facilities across all clubs are cleaned regularly and maintained to a very high standard. Changing areas all include toilets, showers, hair dryers and accessible changing/shower facilities. Lockers are also available to store your belongings safely while you workout – a £1 coin or trolley coin is required.
All of our clubs offer ample car parking. Billingham Forum and Thornaby Pavilion are both conveniently located in the town centres where there is lots of free parking. IB Leisure has a car parking facility and members have the use of the school’s car park on evenings and weekends. The car park at Stockton Splash is also free for 1 hour during the day and free all evening after 17:00pm.
This is an administration fee that applies to any Direct Debit memberships. This is a one off payment which is paid at the start of your membership.
The pro-rata payment covers your gym usage from when you join till your first direct debit payment and is worked out from the day you join to the day you make your first gym payment. We only take Direct Debit payments on either the 1st or 15th of every month, therefore for you to start enjoying your membership sooner we calculate the amount from that first day until the payment date you select.
For example, if you take out a 12 month committed membership and join on the 6th day of the month and your first Direct Debit payments is due on the 15th, you will pay 9 days Pro-Rata at the start so you can being using the facilities right away. Then as of the 15th you will start to make your monthly payment.
That’s not a problem, we can provide you with an additional free card should you lose yours. However if you lose it more than once, there is a £2 replacement fee for every new card issued.
Direct Debits can be arranged to be taken on either the 1st of every month or the 15th of every month. The date that join influences the date of your direct debit payments. If you need to change your payment date, please contact us.
We can freeze your membership until you are well and ready to come back. Please submit a completed form on the freeze my membership page and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please outline the reasons for your request and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Congratulations! If you would like to freeze your membership due to your pregnancy please submit a completed form on the freeze my membership page and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
We understand that things change and you might not want to be an Activ8 member forever, but we would love to try and change your mind! If you are struggling to find motivation and would like to arrange for a new fitness plan to get you back on track, drop us a message and we will do everything we can to help you reach your goals.
You can easily cancel your membership once your contract period has ended by giving us 30 days notice. Visit the cancel my membership page and submit a completed form so we can process your cancellation as quickly as possible.
